The Togetherness Tricycles - hire a trike and you help a charity

Tricis Solidarias is a non profit initiative inspired by a combination of aims: on the one hand, to help out needy children, and on the other, to share a passion for bicycles, or tricycles, as well as to make a case for more bike trails and tracks for motor free means of transport.

Helping out children in India
Tricis Solidarias are tricycles that any tourist or resident can use for half a day each time to ride around Xàbia or even do some shopping, thanks to its nice big basket. All that you need to do is purchase a ticket for only 3€ at any shop that is collaborating with Tricis Solidarias. All the proceeds will go to a project that the Vicente Ferrer Foundation has in Anatapur (India), to buy bicycles for children who wish to continue their studies but cannot do so because their schools are too far away.

Tricis Solidarias ’ other goals
With Tricis Solidarias people who do not usually have access to such an enjoyable and healthy sport, as for example the elderly, can have a chance to borrow a tricycle. Also, the idea is to claim more urban areas for bicycles, tricycles, skates and pedestrians. On top of that, the tricycles are financed thanks to sponsors who benefit from such ideal and highly visible publicity.

Where can I find the Tricis Solidarias
The tricycles are in the Avenida Lepanto at Jávea’s Port, and you can borrow them at Cumpleaños.. We hope to add more pick up points in the future. Click here to see location and recommended routes.

What do I have to do to borrow a Tricis Solidarias
First you must obtain a ticket for 3€ in any shop that collaborates with Solidary Tricycles. Another possibility is to buy a whole book of tickets at any of the La Caixa offices in Xàbia (ask us for the sticker which identifies you as a collaborator).
Next step is to got to Cumpleaños (at Javea´s Port near the dolphin roundabout) with your ticket and fill out a form. If the rider is under 18, an adult must fill out and sign the form. You will then be given a key to one of the tricycles which you may enjoy for half a day.

Become a member of Solidary Tricycles
If you become a member you won't have to fill out a form each time -just show your membership acrd- and, if you wish, you will receive Solidary Tricycles' news bulletin. To become a member you must submit your details to us here and pay 2€ when you pick up your membership card.

Solidary Tricycles is possible thanks to the people of Xàbia, collaborators who have donated their time and effort to this project, sponsors who have supplied the tricycles, and last but not least, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and the Town Hall for its help.
